In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “I Have Confidence in Me.”
Confidence is a trait that we all need in our lives, if you want to achieve anything in life you need to BELIEVE that you have the ability to attain it. I know that its actually easier said than done but that doesn’t mean its unattainable, because having confidence is a journey and not just something you were born you gradually grow into it by taking risks.
For example, while learning a new language, you may hesitate to speak that language to natives because you’re afraid you may not sound like them or make corny mistakes and be laughed at. And that is exactly where you need to step up your game! If you want to have confidence in speaking the language, you gotta speak! no twist & turns, no other short cut, just speak it. I’m not saying you won’t make a mistake, but it only from these mistakes that’ll help you get better at it; hence, increasing your confidence.
One very important thing about self-confidence is the people you hang around with, we need to make sure that the people we spend most of our time with are the ones that are going to help us feel better about our selves, not the opposite. Always keep a positive environment at home, work, school or wherever.
So here’s a challenge: Find ways to be better at something you enjoy doing/ have always wanted to do.
